Mofo Giveaway


This is my first giveaway, and I'm quite excited to be offering a copy of Ani Phyo's newest book, Ani's Raw Food Essentials. I've recommended it to vegans and non-vegans alike because the recipes are healthy, easy, and often portable. I've made several recipes from her book, and I love her recipe for overnight pickles (I'm a fermented food addict - and who wouldn't love pickles that are ready after only one evening on the kitchen counter?).

Those of you who have never sampled raw vegan cuisine are in for a treat. There are some techniques that are extremely allergy friendly (nearly every single recipe is gluten free, soy free, and corn free - not to mention dairy and egg free). The recipes for desserts are simple and fast, and you will likely learn a lot about super foods and nutrient rich ingredients. I used to be terrified of making chocolates, and now I have recipes that can be done in under 5 minutes with some additional chill time in the fridge. Many people think that you must have a Vitamix and dehydrator to enjoy raw vegan food, but there are plenty of recipes that just require a cutting board and knife.

  5. Am all about new cookbooks especially a raw one as I do not have one yet. Eating more and more raw these days and it would be great to have some ideas on what to do with it.i

  10. Ani Phyo is awesome. I made her raw chili quite a bit this summer when tomatoes were in season, and it was fabulous.

  11. I have been so fascinated in raw food lately. It would be amazing to start experimenting with it and this book would help. I've had a look at some of Ani Phyo's books and the recipes just sound amazing and not overly hard.

  12. Vegan Wheekers - Favorite recipe? Hmm...that's so hard! Ani has a great creamy orange salad dressing I love. The smoothies are great for convenience. I have a great hemp salad dressing I love too. I don't know if I can pick one favorite! :)

    Brandi - Ani's first book is how I got my start into veganism. I had a $20 blender and a low budget food processor, and got along just fine with her recipes. As I got more interested in raw and veganism in general, I upgraded my equipment over time. She has some great, simple recipes.

  13. I keep ogling Ani Phyo's new book whenever I go to bookstores but haven't had a change to pick it up yet (yay for being an underfunded doctoral student!) I love her first book because of how straight forward and simple it is! Definitely want to be in the running, and thanks for the giveaway :)

  14. Im simply drooling to try some of the recipes in this book. I dont think I'll ever be 100% raw, but i like to get as raw as possible in the summer. It is so humid where i live, but i love to experiment with food so raw is where its at. :-)

  15. I love Ani's books. Have had them out plenty of times from the library including right now. Sadly I don't own any of them and this would be a good start to the collection. Since there's so many more of her recipes I want to try and can never get around to making them before the books have to go back.
